Waiting for Your Gummy to Kick In? Here Are 15 Ways to Pass The Time

Savannah Sperry

Ah yes, the age-old question: “How long does it take for edibles to hit?” Well, dear reader, you’ve come to the right place. That gummy you just had can take up to two hours to fully kick in. So while you’re waiting for your high to take flight, why not pass the time with some intention? Whether you’re looking to be productive(ish), want to lean into maximum chill, or land somewhere in between, here are 15 things to do before your gummy kicks in.

Be Productive-ish

Who says you can’t cross a few things off your to-do list while you wait? Life’s all about balance, baby (Camino Sours Orchard Peach ‘Balance,’ that is). Before your gummy kicks in, tackle a few low-lift tasks you’ve been putting off — seeing how much you can get done before your high takes off can be a fun way to motivate yourself to do a few chores.

Organize Your Closet

You don’t have to go full Marie Kondo. Pick a drawer, a shelf, or heck, even a laundry pile that’s been haunting you, and give it a little organizational TLC. If you’re feeling ambitious, try organizing by color or season.

Water Your Plants

Let us guess…you have a fiddle leaf fig you’ve been neglecting that’s dying of thirst in your living room. We know, we’re psychic! Odds are your leafy roommates are due for watering, so make your rounds and give everyone a drink.

Clean Out Your Camera Roll

We’ll hold your hand when we say this, but you probably don’t need 19 versions of the same sunset pic in your camera roll. Now’s your opportunity to delete the blurry ones, the dupes, and that rogue screenshot of a pair of shoes you got served in an Instagram ad six months ago. They’re taking up precious real estate on your phone, and it’s time to bid them adieu.

Get Moving

Feel like you’re sitting around waiting for that gummy to hit? Channel that energy into some light movement. You’ve just taken a Camino Wild Cherry ‘Excite,’ and it’s time to get a move on.

Go For a Walk

Lace up those sneakers, throw on a podcast or audiobook, and take a little stroll through the neighborhood. Just make sure you’re back somewhere comfortable before the gummy really starts doing its thing.

Do Some Gentle Yoga

Roll out your mat and get your stretch on with some light yoga. Note: now is not the time to attempt your first headstand. Start with a few cat-cows, a sun salutation or two, or maybe just hang out in child’s pose for a bit. We won’t judge.

Lean into Chill

If productivity isn’t your thing, consider this your permission to do absolutely nothing. Take a cue from Camino Wild Berry ‘Chill’ and settle in for some R&R.

Take a Bath

Draw a bath, load it up with bubbles, light a candle, and prepare to go full zen mode. Make sure you’ve got a fluffy robe waiting for you on the other side.

Read a Book

Cozy up under the blanket with a good book and get lost in the pages of someone else’s world for a while. When you start reading the same paragraph twice, that may be a sign your gummy has officially kicked in.

Listen to a Record

It’s time for a no-skip album. Play that thing front to back, no shuffling allowed. Bonus points if you’re doing this old-school on a vinyl record player. If you’re more of a digital type, we’ll settle for Spotify or Apple Music, as long as you promise to put your phone down and just listen.

Do a Face Mask

Slather on your face mask of choice and let it work its magic while you wait. By the time you wash it off, your gummy will be activated, and you’ll be relaxed, dewy, and fresh as a dang daisy.

Watch Your Comfort Show

Maybe you’re a Friends fanatic, a New Girl nut, or a Seinfeld snob. These are distinct personality types, and we don’t have time to unpack the minutiae right now. Hit play on your sitcom of choice and float away on a gentle cloud of laughs.

Get Creative

A Camino Watermelon Lemonade ‘Bliss’ is on deck, and your inner artist is calling. Don’t overthink it, just let the creative juices flow.

Make a Playlist

The beauty of a playlist is that you can make one for any feeling or occasion. Songs that feel like a 90’s rom-com? Definitely. A playlist for when you’re thinking about texting your hometown ex? Why not? Choose your niche theme and get to curating.

Make a Pinterest Board

Instead of doomscrolling, get inspired and make a Pinterest board based on your current hyperfixation. Your dream French-countryside-inspired kitchen, perhaps? A trip to Sicily you’ve yet to book? Those bangs you're this close to cutting yourself? Pin first, ask questions later.

Treat Yourself

Who says you need company to wine and dine? Consider yourself the guest of honor tonight. Break out the Camino Sparkling Pear ‘Social’ and throw yourself a good time.

Make a Snack Plate

Why eat one thing when you can eat seven? Raid the fridge and assemble a smorgasbord of whatever sounds good. Potato chips, peppered salami, apricots, aged gouda, chocolate chips, and a pickle? It’s your snack-sational world, we’re just livin’ in it.

Order Your Favorite Takeout

Tonight’s the night to let someone else do the cooking. What’ll it be? Thai? Mexican? Burgers? Get your favorite delivered…your taste buds will thank you.

Make a Fancy Mocktail

Channel your inner mixologist and whip up something delish. We’re talking fresh fruit, herbs, sparkling water, and a garnish so excessive it’s borderline impractical. Don’t skimp on the fancy glassware; it’s the best part.

Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

So, how long does it take for edibles to hit? Sometimes, longer than you’d like. But instead of watching the clock (or reaching for another gummy), make the wait part of the fun. Get cozy, get creative, grab a snack, and settle in for the ride.
